After studying for his Ph.D. in physics (capturing atoms with lasers and cooling to measure quantum properties), he spent two years in California on quantum electronics for his post-doctorate. In 2007 he returned to Israel and established his laboratory in Jerusalem, which deals with a variety of topics in quantum information.
